Cybex Isokinetic Test and Exercise System

Exercise Modes of the Cybex Isokinetic System

The Cybex isokinetic system has five exercise modes: Passive Mode (CPM), Isometric Mode, Isokinetic Mode, Isotonic Mode, and Robotic Mode.

The Passive Mode (CPM) is used for continuous passive motion exercises that reduce joint stiffness and increase range of motion.

The Isometric Mode is used for static contractions, where muscle fibers contract, but there is no change in muscle length.

The Isokinetic Mode is used to train the muscles at a constant speed, and it is ideal for muscle testing and rehabilitation.

The Isotonic Mode is used for training the muscles in which the resistance changes with the joint angle, and it helps develop strength and endurance.

The Robotic Mode is used for the rehabilitation of our patients with neurological disorders, and it helps restore function to the impaired limb.

Tests Used in the Cybex Isokinetic System

The Cybex isokinetic system also includes two tests: the Isokinetic Test and the Isometric Test.

The Isokinetic Test is used to measure muscle strength, power, and endurance. It evaluates the performance of our patient and helps in determining the return to active phase.

The Isometric Test, on the other hand, is used to determine the areas that cause pain and weakness and to determine their strength. It is also used to evaluate muscle strength in our patients with muscle disorders.
